Sealed Air Corporation is a global leader in food safety and security, facility hygiene and product protection. It has a portfolio of widely recognisable brands including Cryovac® brand food packaging solutions, Bubble Wrap® brand cushioning and Diversey™ cleaning and hygiene solutions.

In 2013, the company generated revenue of approximately $7.7 billion. It has approximately 25,000 employees who serve customers in 175 countries.

The Challenge

thebigword have worked with Diversey for over ten years on ad-hoc requirements. During Diversey’s growth and merger with (((Sealed Air))) their translation requirements increased dramatically and it became necessary to formalise a relationship with a technology enabled Language Service Provider to support them with their international growth.

They asked thebigword to tender for this work, particularly requiring a dedicated partner to translate all their external and internal facing collateral into multiple languages.

Sealed Air also needed the reassurance that their specific, industry-related terminology could be stored and utilised throughout translations and their brand would remain consistently communicated globally. The merger between Sealed Air and Diversey also created the need to centralise all language requirements and streamline their current translation process.

The Solution

thebigword introduced Sealed Air to their own innovative Language Technology, specifically the Translation Management System (TMS), a single integrated solution that brings together clients, managers and linguists to provide Sealed Air with complete visibility of project progression and status.

By enabling the implementation of automated processes, driving adoption of industry best practice and facilitating continuous access across all time zones, the TMS is the perfect solution for (((Sealed Air))) to connect all key people within their translation process.

Use of the TMS enabled Sealed Air to centralise their localisation requests and resulted in true visibility and transparency over the groups multiple projects.
