National Apprentice Week: A Busy Week For thebigword
thebigword will be taking part in the National Apprentice Week this week with three of our apprentices, Georgina Spikings, Darian Wainwright and Teresa Wilkinson nominated for the Leeds Apprenticeship Awards 2015.
This is the third year running where we’ve been shortlisted by Leeds City Council as Large Apprentice Employer of the Year.
The awards are being held by the National Apprenticeship Service and are designed to celebrate apprenticeships and the positive impact they have on individuals and businesses, and as a recognised provider of apprenticeships, thebigword are proud to be involved.
Every year we take on a number of apprentices in different areas of our business, and many are offered full time roles once they have completed the apprentice scheme. Some of our success stories include Natalie Wilson, who graduated from the scheme in September 2012 and was promoted to Project Coordinator, and then to Project Manager shortly after.
‘Upon completing my apprenticeship and gaining my Business Administration qualification, I was promoted and secured a permanent position as a Project Co-Coordinator. In less than 9 months of being in this role, I was promoted again to my current role as Project Manager which I absolutely love.’
One of our nominated apprentices, Darian Wainwright, started in Learning and Development and is now a full time eLearning Consultant. ‘I had heard great things about thebigword: the people are friendly, the company is great and the service we provide our clients is excellent. The people are friendly and always willing to help you, everyone in the office speaks to you and the atmosphere is great!’
To celebrate National Apprentice Week, our apprentices will be taking part in a Selfie Map on Pinterest to promote awareness across the UK. We are also hosting a lunch where our apprentices will have the opportunity to discuss their role with our Executive team and how well it supports the business.
We will also be opening up brand new apprenticeship schemes on the ‘pledge-o-meter’ which is available on the Apprenticeships.org website. Our vacancies include the following:
- 4 x Apprentice Project Administrators in Leeds
- 1 x Apprentice Project Administrator in London
- 1 x Apprentice Recruitment Administrator in Leeds
If you’d like to be involved in the expansion of a top twenty global language solution provider, gain valuable experience and a qualification, then please send your CV and covering letter to firstname.lastname@example.org.
We wish Georgina, Darian and Teresa the best of luck with their nominations for the Leeds Apprenticeship Awards!
