thebigword is shortlisted for multiple awards at the PD Ports Northern Powerhouse Export Awards.

Global translation and interpretation firm thebigword is celebrating after it was shortlisted again for multiple awards at the PD Ports Northern Powerhouse Export Awards in association with HSBC. Last year thebigword scooped the award for Entrepreneurial Exporter of the Year.

This year, thebigword is shortlisted in the Large Exporter of the year category and defends the Entrepreneurial Exporter of the Year title.

thebigword employs over 600 people worldwide and is one of the top 20 language companies in the world. The company has developed the language services and state of the art technology to help business thrive in the global arena. Whether its social media translations using crowd sourced technology or global digital marketing using our network of industry specific linguist professionals, or the need for a face-to-face interpreter in an emergency situation, thebigword meets every brief.

It works with a range of major government departments, including the Ministry of Justice and the NYC Department of Education, as well as blue chip companies and brands on a global scale.

Commenting on the nomination, Founder and Executive Chairman of thebigword Larry Gould said: “We were absolutely delighted to win an award at last year’s awards and to be shortlisted again demonstrates that we continue to be one of the top exporters in the UK.

“I firmly believe that Language is the final barrier to peace and prosperity, and our team provide round the clock, first class translation and interpretation to a range of global clients. We use our skills to break down barriers to trade and to make people’s lives easier and in some cases safer as well.

“It’s a really exciting time for us here at thebigword as we continue to grow around the globe. Since last year’s awards we have opened two new offices in Boston Massachusetts and Malmo, Sweden. But we’re proud to be rooted here in Yorkshire in my home city of Leeds.”

The winners will be announced at a black-tie dinner, taking place on 22 February 2018 at the Marriott hotel in Leeds.
