Global Leeds-based translation and interpretation firm thebigword is celebrating after it was shortlisted for a prestigious national award and will compete with businesses from across the UK for the top prize.

thebigword is nominated for Growing Business of the Year: Larger Company with a Turnover of £50m in the Amazon Growing Business Awards.

thebigword employs over 600 people worldwide including over 450 at its headquarters in Leeds and is in the top 20 language companies in the world. It works with a range of major government departments, including the Ministry of Justice and the NYC Department of Education, as well as blue chip companies and brands on a global scale.

Commenting on the nomination, Founder and CEO of thebigword Larry Gould said: “I am delighted that we have been shortlisted for this respected award, in all the time since I have been at thebigword I don’t believe there has ever been such an exciting time for the company.
