Registering to work for the Ministry of Justice

thebigword has been awarded the contract to provide language services to the Ministry of Justice and is now preparing to welcome thousands of Linguists who can provide interpretation and translation services – the contract is expected to go live on 31st of October.

This is a great opportunity for Linguists currently working on Ministry of Justice assignments to continue providing the exceptional service as well as secure more business through thebigword. It is also a chance for new Linguists to register for opportunities with the Ministry of Justice.

From July all existing Ministry of Justice Linguists are being contacted by thebigword, for now you do not have to do anything if you want to continue taking these assignments.

We will issue welcome packs in July and these will include information on how to work with thebigword and thebigword’s terms and conditions. .

What you can do now to make sure you are eligible to work for the Ministry of Justice is sign-up for auto-online annual renewal of your enhanced DBS – you must have a valid enhanced DBS and this needs to be renewed every year.

You can also apply for your International School of Linguists Level 6 Diploma in Community Interpreting to help further enhance your skills and broaden the scope of work you are able to undertake (it is an accredited course equivalent to DPSI). To learn more, visit the “ISL website”:
