The awards come off the back of a strong year for thebigword, which saw sales hit a record level. The outlook for 2015 is also positive, with turnover set to increase by 9.6 per cent to £48 million.

Speaking about receiving his award, Larry said: “It’s an honour to receive a special commendation from the city which has helped me to grow thebigword. Watching the company get to a point where it now provides essential translation services to clients across the world, has been tremendously fulfilling.

“thebigword has just had its most successful year to date and there is more set to come.”

Following her award win, Christina said: “Being part of the growth of thebigword is something I love. Working as part of a business with ambitious plans for the future makes sure that every day is always dynamic and challenging.

“I’m very flattered to have been presented with this award, but really it is a team effort and without the hard work of my colleagues I couldn’t be recognised for this award.”

Larry added: “I’m thrilled for Christina to have her talent and consistent hard work recognised. She is a highly skilled marketing professional and has transformed our corporate identify from a traditional business to an aspirational international technology provider.”
