Staff from global, technology-enabled language solution provider thebigword will be putting their best feet forward to raise money for Great Ormond Street Hospital Children’s Charity next month.
The organisation has been selected as the preferred charity for thebigword’s London office and members of staff will be taking part in the RBC Race for the Kids raceforthekids.co.uk on June 8 in Battersea Park. The event, organised by theworld famous hospital, is a family-friendly 5km run which last year saw 4,000 people take part and raise £672,000. This year the charity hopes to raise £750,000. The money raised will help to provide new state of the art buildings and facilities for patients and their families.
Matthew Lowe, Director of New Business & Strategic Partnerships for thebigword, said: “Great Ormond Street is a great hospital and hugely deserving charity. Our staff have a great deal of respect for the hospital, so we’re pleased to be able to get a team together to enter the race and show our support.”
thebigword’s London office has also organised a number of smaller fundraising events for Great Ormond Street Hospital Children’s Charity, including social gatherings, a Halloween event, dress down days and‘Sweet Moments’, an office sweet stall with a charity box.
