Staff at thebigword in Leeds are celebrating the success of Tracey Howson who picked up two gold medals representing England at the IGSF world Kettlebell championships in Loutraki in Greece.
Tracey who is the General Manager on a large public sector contract at thebigword picked up Gold medals in two disciplines; the Women’s veteran long cycle (clean and jerk) and the women’s veteran jerk (less than 70 kilo category).
It is less than a year since Tracey first picked up a kettlebell making the achievement even more astonishing. Encouraged by her coach at Big Kat Fitness and Martial Arts Centre, she qualified for the England team in August.
Tracey will compete in the GSU British Championships in Harrogate next month.
Tracey Howson said: It is a fantastic feeling to win a gold medal. This time last year, I had never even picked up a kettlebell and I’m now a world champion.
Deputy CEO at thebigword Diane Cheesebrough said: This is what inspiration looks like! We are all really proud of Tracey’s achievement and I know she will go on to achieve even more success.
