thebigword receives TIDE award from the Employers Network for Equality & Inclusion

We’re proud to announce that thebigword has been awarded Bronze in the 2025 TIDE Awards!

The Talent Inclusion and Diversity Evaluation (TIDE) Awards, run by the Employers Network for Equality & Inclusion (Onvero), are a respected benchmarking initiative that evaluates how organisations are progressing on their diversity and inclusion journey.

Receiving a Bronze Award reflects the strong foundations we’ve laid and the momentum we’re building toward a more inclusive workplace. This recognition is a testament to the dedication of our teams and leadership in driving meaningful change.

Chris Whiting, Global Head of People and Talent at thebigword, said: “We’re absolutely thrilled to have earned the ENEI Bronze TIDE Award! This achievement celebrates the passion and commitment of our incredible team in building a truly inclusive workplace. Diversity and equity aren’t just values for us – they’re the foundation of our success, and this recognition inspires us to keep raising the bar.”

We have transformed our workplace culture by leveraging Diversity, Equity and Inclusion as a catalyst for positive change. Recognising that true inclusion extends far beyond compliance, we shifted from traditional, policy-driven practices to a values-led, people centred approach.

Key achievements include:

  1. Achieving Disability Confident Leader – Level 3 status, the highest recognition under the UK Government’s scheme, reflecting a deep commitment to accessibility and inclusive employment.
  2. Implementing progressive workplace policies, including a Transitioning at Work Policy and an enhanced Menopause Policy, ensuring meaningful support for employees at every stage of life.
  3. Redesigning recruitment practices to eliminate bias and attract a more diverse talent pool, resulting in measurable improvements in hiring and retention.
  4. Establishing the company’s first ED&I Committee, empowering employees to shape policy, celebrate diversity, and drive accountability across the business.
  5. Partnered with local councils and charities to provide mentoring, apprenticeships, and career advice to underrepresented groups. These efforts have improved representation and created new pathways into the business.

We’re honoured to be recognised alongside other forward-thinking organisations and remain committed to creating a culture where everyone feels valued, respected, and empowered.
