On 19th May, thebigword host our new and improved Language and Learning Exchange in London, bringing together language professionals, partners, and aspiring linguists for an afternoon of connection, collaboration, and insight.
The event provided a valuable opportunity to engage with both our existing network and new professionals interested in working with thebigword, all united by a shared commitment to breaking down language barriers and advancing the sector.
Throughout the day, attendees explored a series of interactive stations, designed to showcase thebigword’s services, technology, and support for linguists.
These sessions created a relaxed and engaging environment for meaningful conversations—allowing guests to network with peers, exchange experiences, and speak directly with our specialist teams.
We were proud to welcome a range of speakers who brought different perspectives to the event:
- Mark Rice, Chief Operating Officer at thebigword, opened the event with an address on the evolving language services landscape and the critical role of technology and innovation.
- Inspector Neil Bouse from Thames Valley Police shared a powerful client perspective, highlighting the real-world impact of language services in supporting frontline operations.
- Louise Pancholi, Global Head of Product, delivered a live demonstration of our WordSynk Virtual platform, showcasing how technology is transforming the way interpreting services are delivered – making them faster, more accessible, and more efficient.
Accessibility remained a key priority throughout the event. We extend our sincere thanks to Clarion UK’s BSL interpreters, whose live signing ensured that every session was inclusive and accessible for all attendees.
The Language and Learning Exchange reflects our ongoing commitment to supporting, engaging, and growing our global community of linguists. Events like these are vital in fostering stronger relationships, sharing knowledge, and shaping the future of the language services industry.
We would like to thank everyone who joined us on the day and contributed to making the event such a success. We look forward to hosting more opportunities like this in the future.
