Global translation and interpretation provider thebigword took part in Radio Aire’s Young Hero Awards evening on Friday 26th October and presented the ‘Charity Fundraiser’ award.
The company supports charities working in the communities where thebigword is located through their CSR programme. In Leeds, thebigword is supporting Radio Aire’s Cash for Kids in the run up to Christmas and their Mission Christmas campaign.
Chairman and Founder of thebigword Larry Gould, started his career as an apprentice which inspired him to support young people to get opportunities to learn and develop in a professional business environment. thebigword has a thriving apprenticeship programme in the UK as well as an internship programme in the United States. The company currently has 23 apprentices; 86% have gone onto secure permanent roles.
thebigword invited two of our highly commended apprentices to attend the Radio Aire Young Hero Awards evening, as a thank you for their hard work.

We celebrated a wonderful evening at the Young Hero Awards and it was thoroughly heart-warming to be surrounded by such inspirational young people.”

The ‘Charity Fundraiser’ award gives recognition to young individuals who fundraise charitable activity and work ambitiously to benefit and help others. Consistently putting others before themselves and showing genuine acts of kindness, this award was presented to highlight their impressive and selfless fundraising activity.
