Global Language Technology company thebigword Group has secured a contract extension to its Ministry of Justice (MoJ) interpreting contract in the UK. The company was originally awarded the contract in 2016.
thebigword will continue to provide a range of interpreting services including Telephone, video remote and face-to-face interpreting to organisations across the Justice System, including HM Courts and Tribunals Service, National Probation Service (NPS), Crown Prosecution Service (CPS), HM Prison Service (HMPS) and others.
Over the last four years of the MoJ contract, thebigword has supported almost 25,000 users across the United Kingdom in 143 different languages. thebigword has continued to deliver high fulfilment levels, never falling below 97.6% in the last 12 months.
Technology development has been fundamental to thebigword’s success. The company has continuously invested in technology to ensure the Ministry of Justice has all the interpreting tools they need to communicate effectively. During the Covid-19 pandemic, thebigword has worked with the MoJ to implement a range of safety measures.
Court rooms can now connect with interpreters remotely in under 30 seconds ensuring that they can continue hearing evidence from limited English speakers, and provide safety to linguists and those giving evidence.
